Sample book
Laser cutting 10 shapes onto 5 different materials results into 50 smaples, I didn’t realise how long and tedius it would take to stick all the pieces together and work out how to present them. I displayed them first onto 6 A2 boards but it looked a bit menotinous, so I eventually decided to put them into a book so they were more organised and compact.

Enamelling class
Sifted opaque green enamel one side, waste enamel with transparent green over the top on the other. Due to the delicate nature of the pierced copper, each enamelled layer was under-fired to prevent warping, meaning that the surface looks a little bit like orange peel in places.
Waste enamel with opaque blue on top, and the same green as before on the other side but with accidental bubbles.
Chased copper with wet flux, oxide left untreated.
I really enjoyed my enamelling induction with Jane Short on Monday. These certainly aren't examples of technically good enamelling, but with practice I will hopefully be a little better at being more generous when sifting layers and kiln timings.

Pendants for Fundraising
Some little Valentines treats to raise funds for the Design Crafts 2nd year Exhibition. These are just mock ups, I intent to recreate these in acrylic but I think these look rather nice in MDF. Now I have the fun job of working out how to sell these online.....

Sainsbury's Project
Laser cut sketchbook covers on MDF, based on the net for one of the lampshade ideas below. A bit sad that someone left a greasy thumb mark on the front though.
The Brief for this project was to design three items that fits to theme in the trend pack given by Sainsbury's Homeware department. I created prototypes for a table Lamp, pendant lampshade, and a box.
Later on I will put up images of my work in more detail.
